The ones who aren’t anything spectacular, the ones who get ok grades, the ones who don’t excel in sports. The ones who blend into the walls. Yeah, that was me. Overall, in every class I had a B or C. Overall, every sport confused me, as I was, again, a typical awkward teenager, and, overall, I didn’t consider myself to be extraordinarily beautiful. It wasn’t like I hideous or anything, but no one ever really said, “Gosh, Marie. You’re soooo pretty.” I’d never even gone out with a guy; they all seemed to elude my grasp.
